Fine Food Market in St Ann's Square
03/07/2008
City centre workers, shoppers and residents are being urged to check out the Fine Food Market in St Ann's Square.
Alongside treats like pancakes, fudges, specialist cheeses, bread and liquorice, some of the best international and domestic produce is on offer.
Fresh farm produce includes locally-sourced beef, game and gammon, while dishes from Brazil, Spain and India are also waiting to be sampled.
Moreover, there is a selection of bottled beers, fruit liqueurs, real ales and smoothies.
According to Councillor Paul Andrews, the Fine Food Market is one of Manchester's most popular events and is a "tremendous showcase" for local restaurateurs and farmers.
The market will run until Sunday July 6th.
Last week, Manchester city council was given a prestigious food award at the House of Commons in recognition of its Food Futures scheme, which encourages the development of a good food culture.
