Deathly Hallows 'most popular Potter'
03/09/2007
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has been voted the most popular book in JK Rowling's best-selling literary series.
The seventh and final book, in which the battle between the boy wizard and Lord Voldemort reaches its conclusion, beat the other six books in a poll by MSN Entertainment.
The Deathly Hallows sold almost three million copies on its first day of sale in the UK last month, while the number of books flying off shelves stateside neared 8.5 million in 24 hours.
Of the other books, The Prisoner of Azkaban number three in the series was named runner-up, while The Half-Blood Prince and The Chamber of Secrets propped up the MSN poll, which sought the views of 45,000 fans.
Despite JK Rowling drawing a line under the exploits of her eponymous hero, Potter fans can still get their wizarding fix from the future release of the final two films in the series.
But Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, starring Daniel Radcliffe, is not expected to hit cinemas until the end of the decade, by which time its star will have turned 21.
MSN Entertainment's top Harry Potter books (book number in series)
1 The Deathly Hallows (seven)
2 The Prisoner of Azkaban (three)
3 The Goblet of Fire (four)
4 The Philosopher's Stone (one)
5 The Order of the Phoenix (five)
6 The Half-Blood Prince (six)
7 The Chamber of Secrets (two)
