Halfway housemates suffer in new task

03/08/2007

Big Brother made the 'halfway housemates' cringe with the announcement of their latest task.

David, Kara-Louise, Shanessa and Tracey were told that they would have to eat a dish, specially prepared for them, in the diary room as fellow contestants watched them suffer on the plasma screen.

Housemates who finished their meal would each add £100 towards the main house shopping budget but with such money up for grabs, the task was made suitably challenging.

David was asked to stomach a luncheon meat tartare with copious amounts of jam mixed in. Pink-haired Tracey was told to down a glass of olive oil while care assistant Shanessa was assigned a pint of mayonnaise. Kara-Louise was given a fancy kebab to munch on.

David vomited in the diary room after eating his designated 'luxury food' item but managed to complete the task. Tracey looked at the glass of olive oil with dismay but she too managed to summon up the courage to swallow the cooking aid in between gulps of water.

Kara-Louise passed her kebab test as well, but Shanessa was unable to add to the winnings as she refused to eat the mayonnaise. She gave up without trying which didn't go down well with Liam and Ziggy.

Earlier in the day, Amy, Jonty, Liam and Ziggy were asked to nominate four people who would take their place in the halfway house.

The three new contestants David, Kara-Louise and Shanessa were picked along with Tracey, who was part of the initial batch of housemates. And in a new twist to the reality show, two of the four housemates will face eviction this week.

This week's live eviction show will be broadcast live on Channel 4 this Friday at 20:00 BST and 22:00 BST.
