Teen in court charged with murdering David Idowu

A teenager has appeared in court today charged with murdering 14-year-old David Idowu in south London.
David, of Southwark, died of multiple stab wounds at the Royal London hospital three weeks after being attacked in Great Dover Street during the evening rush hour on June 17th.
A 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at the Old Bailey today.
The teenager from Catford, south-east London, was remanded in custody and will next appear in court on September 8th to enter his plea.
David was the 19th teenager to be murdered in London this year; the figure has now reached 23.
