Britney's new single released

31/08/2007

Britney Spears' new single Gimme More premiered on a New York radio station last night.

The song, which is being touted as an up-tempo dance track, appeared minutes before its release on celebrity gossip websites.

The tune opens on a bold note with the Baby One More Time star proclaiming her return to the airwaves with a touch of profanity.

Gimme More will feature on her fifth album, which is expected to be released later this year. Spears' last album, In the Zone, released in 2003, featured dance tracks such as Me Against the Music, a collaboration with Madonna.

Meanwhile, the singer's battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline for custody of their two children continues as Spears's former manager becomes the latest individual to be subpoenaed in the row.

Larry Rudolph was served with papers yesterday, asking him to testify in the case. Previously Federline's attorneys have asked Spears' assistant, her former bodyguards and staff at her rehabilitation centre to speak under oath about the star's parenting skills.

Documents regarding a hearing in the custody battle, which were released yesterday, also revealed details of the singer's income.

Us magazine reports the court papers, details of which were reportedly edited by both Federline and Spears before being made public, as saying that the troubled pop princess earned $737,868 (£365,807) a month. She also pays her ex-husband $20,000 (£9,915) a month in spousal support.

The next hearing in the case will take place on September 4th, according to the magazine.
