Second trial for 'unswirled' Canadian paedophile in Bangkok
07/10/2008
A Thai criminal court has launched a second trial against convicted Canadian paedophile Christopher Neil.
On Tuesday Neil was brought to the court from prison where he is currently serving a jail sentence for another child sex conviction.
The 32-year-old former teacher denies the charges of sexually abusing a minor, videotaping the alleged abuse, taking a child without parental consent and holding him against his will.
Neil was first arrested after Interpol launched a global manhunt for him in October 2007.
An image of the Canadian was released after experts managed to unscramble digitally distorted images of Neil on the internet engaged in child abuse.
He was soon arrested and is currently serving a three years and three month prison sentence.
The latest charges he faces involve a nine-year-old boy who claims Neil paid him money in return for sexual acts in 2003.
The boy is the brother of a child Neil admitted abusing in his earlier court case.
