Teen stabbed to death in London
31/08/2007
A teenager has been stabbed to death in east London, Scotland Yard have confirmed.
The boy, who is thought to be 17, was found dead at Chesterford Road, Newham, shortly before midnight last night.
Two 16-year-old boys have been arrested in connection with the murder and are currently in custody at an east London police station.
Police say they are in the process of contacting the victim's family and have yet to formally identify him.
A post-mortem is expected to be carried out tomorrow afternoon.
"Inquiries continue to establish the circumstances that led to the incident but at this early stage we do not believe the murder to be gang-related," a Metropolitan police spokesperson said.
Anyone with any information has been urged to contact police.
Knife-crime in London has been in the public eye in recent months after a spate of teenager killings earlier this year.
