Campbell and Chambers to line up in Birmingham
17/08/2006
Darren Campbell and Dwain Chambers have both been named in the Great Britain and Northern Ireland team for the Norwich Union international match against Russia, China and the USA in Birmingham this week.
Team selectors made the decision despite the two sprinters' embarrassing bust-up at the European Championships in Gothenburg last week.
Campbell, 32, launched an astonishing boycott of the celebrations following the men's 4x100m relay gold in Gothenburg in protest at Campbell's inclusion, so soon after his two-year ban for doping offences.
The event is expected to be Campbell's farewell race from competitive action as he has vowed to retire from athletics.
Meanwhile, Marlon Devonish, another member of Britain's 4x100m relay team, is running in the 200m in Birmingham while silver medallists Nathan Douglas and Greg Rutherford are also competing.
European bronze medallists Sam Ellis and Rhys Williams will both be on show at the event as they run in their 800m and 400m hurdles races respectively.
