Khan set for Bull-fight on Calzaghe undercard

06/03/2007

Amir Kahn will fight Steffy Bull on the undercard to Joe Calzaghe, it has been announced.

The Olympic silver medallist, who is unbeaten in his flourishing career to date, will fight the Doncaster boxer on April 7th at Cardiff's Millennium stadium.

The 20-year-old will take on the veteran Bull, who has come out of retirement to take up the challenge.

Indeed, Bull had been planning to be ringside for Calzaghe's super-middleweight clash with Peter Manfredo, but will now be boxing in the same ring just hours before.
He explained: "My partner and I are due to be married in July and she gave me a present of pitch-side tickets for the show.

"We were going to have a nice weekend in Wales and support the British boxers."

He added: "Now I am going to be getting into the ring and there is going to be a spare ticket next to my missus. It feels like I have been handed a lottery ticket."

Bull retired after a planned fight with John Fewkes fell through but says he is now relishing the chance to box centre stage.

Khan, meanwhile, will be looking to get past Bull and continue his progress towards a world championship belt before the age of 21.
