Next Calzaghe fight "huge"
15/06/2006
Frank Warren says he is planning a "huge" fight for WBO and IBF super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe's next bout.
Calzaghe controversially withdrew from his latest title showdown due to a hand injury but people have suggested that the injury is not as bad as he made out.
Warren has reacted furiously to such rumours branding people "stupid" for saying "silly" things about his boxer.
He is currently negotiating with a number of stables to secure what he promises will be a big-name match for the British fighter.
The promoter told the BBC: "We have a couple of ideas about who he will meet but we're keeping them quiet until the contract is signed. As soon as a name gets out, the money goes up, but it will be a huge fight.
"Everyone will be pleased when they hear the name, especially if our top target comes through. When Joe fights in the autumn he'll show again why he's the best fighter I've ever been involved with."
The fight will most likely take place in September and his Welsh fans will hope that the bout can be lined up to take place at the Millennium Stadium, just as July's would have been.
