Flintoff takes two wickets on bowling return for Lancashire
19/03/2008
England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff continued his return from injury with an eventful display for Lancashire against Sussex in Dubai.
Flintoff hit a six and two fours before being stumped on 15 while batting.
On his return to bowling he took two wickets for just nine runs. It was his first attempt at bowling in a match since his fourth successive ankle operation last autumn.
Flintoff, 30, bowled just five over in the game, claiming the wickets of Chris Nash and Ben Brown in four balls during his second over.
Lancashire thrashed Sussex, recording a 109-run victory, after setting the county champions 247 to win.
Before playing for his county in the Pro Arabian Cricket Challenge in Dubai, Flintoff had not played a competitive match since the ICC World Twenty20 Championship in September.
Flintoff has announced that he is hoping on being available for selection for England's first Test match against New Zealand at Lords on May 15th.
