Kumble says his side will level series after Perth victory
19/01/2008
India captain Anil Kumble has urged his side to go all out for victory in the fourth Test against Australia in Adelaide and level the series.
Kumble's men secured a memorable 72-run win against the Aussies in the third Test at Perth today denying the home side of making it a world record 17 Test victories in a row.
But the Indian skipper said his players should now turn their attention to the fourth and final Test, which starts next Thursday.
"It's important that we take this momentum forward and ensure that we level the series. That will be the best result after what happened in the first two Test matches," said Kumble.
"We came here with the attitude to win a series in Australia, but we can only level the series.
"That was the talk before this Test match and I'm delighted we've been able to win this Test. We will take this confidence to Adelaide and are looking forward to winning that and levelling the series."
Kumble, who claimed his 600th wicket in the match, added that the win in Perth was "one of the best, if not the best", wins of his career.
But India will face a tough task of equalling the series as Australia captain Ricky Ponting promised his side would come out all guns blazing in Adelaide.
