Nottinghamshire pile on misery for relegated Surrey

Nottinghamshire have gone top of Division One of the County Championship after thumping relegated Surrey by an innings and 143 runs at the Oval.
The Outlaws made a mammoth 532 in their first innings thanks to centuries from Samit Patel and Mark Wagh. Surreys gamble of signing Shoaib Akhtar failed to pay off with the Pakistani paceman failing to take a single wicket.
But Akhtar (32) made the second highest runs in Surreys disastrous second innings with the hosts all out for 122.
Elsewhere, Sussex ended the day on 267-6 against Durham at the Riverside.
Chris Nash hit 96 while wicket-keeper Matt Prior made 58 before becoming the second of Steve Harmisons wickets.
Durham made 380 in their first innings thanks to 138 from West Indies star Shivnarine Chanderpaul, with Mohammad Sami the pick of the visitors' bowlers with 5-95.
Elsewhere, Lancashire beat Kent by 70 runs at Liverpool after the visitors were skittled out for 92 in their second innings with Glen Chapple taking 6-40.
Somerset ended day three nine runs behind Yorkshire at Scarborough.
The Sabres are on 25-0 in their second innings after bowling out the visitors for 414. Anthony McGrath top-scored for Yorkshire with 128 while South African Jacques Rudolph reached 98 before being dismissed by Andy Caddick.
Meanwhile in Division Two, Worcestershire have earned promotion despite an eight-wicket loss to Middlesex at Kidderminster.
Worcestershire were skittled out for just 122 in their second innings with Dirk Nannes doing the damage with 6-32.
Andrew Strauss made an unbeaten 28 as the visitors passed their target of 67 with ease.
Elsewhere, Gloucestershire ended the day still over 200 runs behind Derbyshire at Derby.
The Gladiators were on 118-2 at stumps with Kadeer Ali hitting a half-century. That was after the home side made 422 in their first innings after 92 from Greg Smith.
Elsewhere, Essex look to be heading for defeat against Warwickshire at Chelmsford.
The hosts are on 125-1 in their second innings with Ravi Bopara unbeaten on 81 after Warwickshire made an impressive 514-9 after Tony Frost made 242 not out.
Elsewhere, Glamorgan are in control of their match with Leicestershire at the Swalec Stadium.
After making 450 in their first innings with centuries from Gareth Rees and Mike Powell, the Welsh side made the Foxes follow-on after skittling them out for 201. Leicestershire reached 159-4 at the close.
