Beckhams' staff 'arrested on suspicion of theft'
14/10/2008
Two housekeepers of England footballer David Beckham and his wife Victoria have been arrested on suspicion of theft from the couple's Hertfordshire home, reports claim.
Hertfordshire police confirmed that a 56-year-old woman and a 55-year-old man, both from Essex, were detained over alleged theft from a private house.
Reports suggest that items belonging to the Beckhams, including football boots, designer clothes and sportswear, were placed on the internet auction site eBay.
The Beckhams bought the Hertfordshire mansion in 1999 shortly after they got married but they currently spend the majority of their time in the US, after David's move from Real Madrid to LA Galaxy.
The BBC quotes a police spokesman as saying the theft was reported on Friday and the man and woman have been bailed until November 22nd.
