Justin Timberlake 'big music artist' of 2006
04/12/2006
Justin Timberlake was named as this year's biggest music artist at last night's VH1 Big in 06 awards.
Since leaving N*Sync, the 25-year-old singer's career has gone from strength to strength and in the past few months he has topped America's Billboard chart with My Love and SexyBack.
The ceremony aims to acknowledge 2006's biggest stars, moments and crazes and was attended by a whole host of celebrities.
Awards were voted for by the public via the music channel's website and from mobile phones.
David Hasselhoff took home the award for biggest comeback following the success of his single Jump in My Car, while newly single Britney Spears was named as the "big mama".
Paris Hilton, the heiress notorious for falling out of A-list clubs with celebrity pals on her arm, was branded as the "big outlaw" and Kiefer Sutherland, star of the hit show 24, was named as the "big TV star".
Hosted by the comedian D.L Hughley, the show had appearances from Eva Longoria, Kiefer Sutherland, Tommy Lee and JT himself.
Performances were given by Fergie, The Fray and The Killers.
