Kate Middleton pulls out of boat race
07/08/2007
Kate Middleton has pulled out of a charity boat race she was due to participate in due to ongoing concerns over the media coverage of the event.
Photographers have regularly been seen snapping the on-off girlfriend of Prince William while training for the cross-channel race.
Ms Middleton was part of the Sisterhood racing the Brotherhood from Dover to Calais in Chinese dragon boats.
A spokeswoman for the Sisterhood said: "Kate Middleton has withdrawn from the race due to security issues surrounding the recent media circus."
Ms Middleton was training as the helm of the boat, steering it along one of the Channel's shipping lanes to raise money for the charities Babes in Arms and CHASE Ben Hollioake Fund.
Media reports have suggested that the 25-year-old fashion buyer is back together with Prince William after the pair split up earlier this year.
The race will still go ahead on August 25th, despite Ms Middleton's absence.
