Adventure sports festival to hit Manchester
12/07/2006
Manchester will play host to an urban adventure sports race, as Urban X comes to the city centre streets in August.
Urban X is a summer adventure sports festival, combining three major events across one weekend.
Making up the event, which takes place between August 5th and August 6th 2006, will be the Manchester Rat Race, the Bruntwood Aerial Assault and the Urban Action Village.
The Rat Race offers adventurous Manchester residents the opportunity to enter a team to race across the streets of the city, be it by foot, mountain bike or abseiling rope.
The all-activity competition wants teams of three to enter in order to compete against other adventurers in the city.
Visitors can then watch the UK's top climbers compete in the Aerial Assault as they climb and conquer some of Manchester's tallest buildings.
For those who wish to try activities out on a smaller scale, the Urban Action Village provides visitors with a mini-bungee and climbing wall.
