BBC Blast seeks creative Mancs
29/06/2006
Budding DJs, music writers and MCs are being urged to head to Albert Square in Manchester city centre this weekend.
From today, the BBC will hold a mobile recording studio in the square, which aims to attract local creative talent.
BBC Blast, which is a scheme trying to facilitate the country's creative talent, will be providing a number of industry workshops for the people of Manchester.
These workshops include film-making, song-writing, animation, VJ-ing and DJ-ing, as well as performances of the latest young talent in the north-west.
The main aim of the Blast initiative is to offer stimulating experiences to 13 to 19-year-olds through creative measures, which will consequently build confidence and know-how.
BBC Blast's stint in Manchester lasts until Sunday July 2nd and will be open to the public from 10:00 BST to 19:00 BST each day.
The following weekend, the Blast tour moves on to Sheffield, where it will be offering similar attractions to the Yorkshire public.
