Celebrity chef can't wait to get his teeth into black pudding contest
01/09/2006
Greater Manchester celebrity chef Andrew Nutter, who is on the judging panel of a black pudding competition in Bury, has said he is looking forward to the contest.
Local chefs who reach the finals will participate in a 'cook-off' at Bury Market famous for its black puddings.
The winner will receive tickets to Birmingham's forthcoming Good Food Show and will be invited to sample the delights of Mr Nutter's restaurant.
The celebrity chef, who is well-known for his crispy Bury black pudding wontons, told the Rochdale Observer that the black pudding competition is part of the Manchester Food and Drink Festival.
"I am always looking for different ways to cook black pudding so it should be really interesting," he added.
Among the other events taking place during the Manchester Food and Drink Festival is a guided ramble around some of Salford's finest pubs and a celebration of Fairtrade produce in Manchester's Northern Quarter.
