Eurocultured returns to Manchester
26/05/2006
This weekend will see outdoor art and music festival Eurocultured return to the streets of Manchester.
Artists, musicians, dancers and DJs will descend on the north-west city, taking over two streets close to Oxford Road station.
Over 12,000 people visited the event last year, which celebrates European culture in its mediums of music, painting and performance.
Painters from Sweden, Portugal, Germany and Spain will be producing and showcasing their work, alongside people from the UK.
Musically, the festival will include performances from German DJs DSL, live music from Prague-based Gypsi and a show from Preston Latin jazz band RSL.
Eurocultured's organisers explain the variety of shows that will take place, saying: "See strong men, dancing girls, Hungarian folk singers and much more besides.
"There will also be a rare performance of Fado traditional Portuguese music, this is the first ever performance by Joana Amendoeira outside London."
The event, which is in its third year, is completely free to visit.
