GMPTA to hold Rochdale event
05/03/2008
Rochdale residents will have the opportunity to confront transport issues with the people who make the rules, it has been announced.
The town's bus station will play host to Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Authority's (GMPTA) Transport Operator Surgery on Wednesday March 12th from 07:00 to 19:00 GMT.
As well as officers from GMPTA, attendees ready to face public opinion include representatives of bus companies First and Bu-Val Buses.
Vice chair of GMPTA Allen Brett said: "I'd encourage anyone with something to say about local public transport issues to come along on Wednesday - and let us know how we can improve the services they use."
He also admitted the informal series of four 'surgeries' were being held instead of a formal meeting last year, which produced a low turnout.
The announcement is part of a GMPTA initiative to hold four such surgeries a year in each of Greater Manchester's ten districts.
