Gallagher serenades Selfridges chef in living room
04/12/2006
A chef at Selfridges in Manchester was given a special performance by Oasis star Noel Gallagher, live in his own living room.
Ben Hayne, 22, from Poynton Cheshire, said he was "gobsmacked" when Noel Gallagher turned up on his doorstep to play an acoustic set in his home.
Noel sang a three-song set, which was broadcast live to millions of listeners on Radio 1 and included recent hit The Importance of Being Idle and fan-favourite Don't Look Back in Anger.
Ben described the experience of meeting his idol to the Sun: "It was a totally amazing experience. We were all chatting to him and he was really nice."
About 15 people attended the gig in Ben's living room, which was the tenth time he saw Oasis live.
Noel went on to sign Ben's guitar and CDs leaving Ben to describe the moment as "the best day of my life".
