Internet giant to open Manchester-based office
29/11/2006
Yahoo! has announced that it is to open a regional office in Manchester next year.
The internet giant hopes the new branch will help its services for partners and customers in northern England, with the focus on developing and building relations with agencies.
Media campaigns will specifically target clients based in the north, with Steven Beckwith, head of inside sales, stating he will relocate from London to the Manchester branch.
New Media Knowledge reports that the new branch will be effective from January 1st 2007, with Media-Link remaining Yahoo!'s partner in Scotland.
Meanwhile, Yahoo! recently announced that it will work with seven newspaper groups in a joint advertising deal.
About 170 US newspapers will collaborate in the deal, with the partnership to begin in November with Yahoo!'s HotJobs service.
Yahoo! follows Google in signing a deal with US newspapers which will see them sharing online advertising and technology.
