Manchester Fashion Market celebrates first birthday
03/05/2006
Manchester has been described as "a world leader in setting trends" by local councillor Paul Murphy.
Mr Murphy also described the city as "vibrant" as he spoke about the upcoming Manchester Fashion Market that celebrates its first birthday this weekend.
Saturday May 5th marks the year anniversary for the market which can be found on Tib Street in the Northern Quarter.
The market contains independent labels in such items as clothes, bags, purses and jewellery and on Saturday, shoppers will be able to help celebrate its landmark day with birthday cake that is on offer at the stalls.
Commenting on the city and what the Fashion market brings to it, Mr Murphy said: "It's a vibrant city and a great place to shop.
"The Fashion Market adds another creative dimension to the Northern Quarter. The designers are sought for their high quality craftsmanship and you are sure to find something unique."
The market is approximately 200 metres away from Affleck's Palace, which specialises in alternative fashions, as well as providing an array of other products for a variety of people.
