Manchester people 'feel lucky'
04/08/2006
Manchester is one of the places people feel the luckiest, new research from the National Lottery suggests.
The city polled behind Brighton, Liverpool and Reading as the fourth most positive city in the UK, the survey by ICM research shows.
A total of 79 per cent of the city's residents - equal with Cardiff - considered themselves in a positive light, compared to 93 per cent of Brighton's inhabitants.
Regionally, the people of the north-west are the most upbeat, with 83 per cent of the area indicating their positive feelings towards life in general, ahead of the south-east's 76 per cent.
Residents of towns and cities across the UK were asked about their mood, optimism and overall life satisfaction, and how it impacts upon their luck.
Aberdeen, Leicester and Edinburgh contained the least happy and positive residents, according to the survey.
The Lotto jackpot for Saturday August 5th currently stands at £7.5 million and is a rollover from last week.
