Music fans encouraged to broaden horizons
31/07/2006
Manchester's music fans are being urged to go and watch bands they have never heard of during this summer.
Most high-profile groups and solo artists will be occupied with the festival season over the forthcoming months, presenting the opportunity for less-established artists to dominate the gigging scene, reports Manchester Music.
A number of bands are recommended by the site, with a variety of Manchester venues hosting their shows over the next fortnight.
Shut Your Eyes And You'll Burst Into Flames are playing at Jabez Clegg on Saturday August 9th, with support from iDresden, No*Tokyo, the Amber and Virtuoso.
Prior to this, Forgotten Hopefuls play at the Roadhouse on Tuesday August 5th and My Word is Law head the Retro Bar line-up the following night.
The Ritz on Whitworth Street West and the Manchester Academy will also be holding gigs throughout the next two months.
Other local bands to look out for are the Longcut and the KBC, who have been playing regularly in some of the main Manchester gigging venues over the last few years.
