Philips Park to host "great party"
13/07/2006
Family entertainment comes to Manchester on Sunday July 16th, in the form of motor performance shows, equestrianism and the arts.
Philips Park, located close to the City of Manchester Stadium, plays host to the event which is expected to attract up to 10,000 visitors.
From noon until 16:00 BST, Manchester residents will be able to take in a number of attractions across a variety of fields.
Mini cars will be performing dangerous stunts, the Company of Horsemen will be showcasing equestrian tricks and the 2000 Dog Agility team will be presenting their canine skills.
Councillor Mark Hackett, executive member for culture and leisure, said: "This should be a great party.
"This event is a great way to spend a summer's day and there is something for all ages. Make sure you come along and let's hope it doesn't rain."
When it is not hosting family events, Philips Park is also known for its bowling green, children's play areas and tulip garden.
