Springsteen in Manchester on Sunday
03/05/2006
US rock star Bruce Springsteen plays a sell-out gig at the MEN Arena in Manchester on Sunday May 7th.
The 55-year-old music man, famous for his songs Born in the USA and Streets of Philadelphia, will be playing his only UK date outside of London for his current tour.
Springsteen's European tour is in conjunction with the release of We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions, where the US star performs gospel, folk and blues numbers with the 17-strong Seeger Sessions Band.
The Manchester date will follow the tour's performance at New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, which is being staged as part of the city's recovery plans post Hurricane Katrina.
It was Springsteen and the band's first performance together and helped draw in the crowds to the festival which was held over two weekends.
Tickets for the Manchester event, priced between £38.50 and £47.50, had been on sale since early April but have since sold out.
