The light fantastic
16/08/2006
September will see Platt Fields Park in Manchester transformed for one weekend with a touch of French fantasy as the green space is turned into magical land of light and musical installations.
From September 28th to 30th the French group, Compagnie Carabosse, will be lighting up the Fallowfield park with their Installation de Feu, which will see the very trees transformed with light and fire sculptures.
Visitors will be invited to enter the park from dusk, for the entrance fee of £1 where they can then wander the pathways of the Shakespearean Gardens and Ash Fields and marvel at the "fairytale environment" of various and wondrous light installations and atmospheric structures until 23:00 BST.
The event will also feature live music animations and people are encouraged to stay a while, sit on the grass and enjoy the alchemy.
