Transport chiefs to answer the public's questions
10/07/2008
Salford residents and entrepreneurs can have a one-on-one chat with the people responsible for managing and running Manchester's public transport services.
Transport chiefs from the Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Authority will be on hand to answer questions at a drop-in session at Eccles Interchange Travelshop tomorrow (Friday) from 11:00 to 13:00 BST.
Representatives from Metrolink, as well as bus operators First and Arriva, will also be there.
City transport spokesman Michael Renshaw said he wants to hear from as many people as possible about their experiences of using public transport and what improvements they would recommend.
"I'd encourage anyone with something to say about local public transport issues to come along on Friday," he added.
The drop-in session is the second of four to be held in Salford this year. They are regularly held at bus stations and interchanges in each of the ten Manchester boroughs.
Last month, it was announced that new Metrolink tram lines to Rochdale, Oldham, Droylsden and Chorlton will be ready by spring 2011.
