Transport chiefs to meet Boltonians
01/05/2008
The people responsible for running public transport services in Greater Manchester will come face-to-face with Bolton residents next week.
A transport drop-in session is being held at Bolton train station on Wednesday May 7th from 16:00 to 18:00 BST. It is the second of four sessions to be held in the west Manchester borough this year.
As well as representatives from the passenger transport bodies, the session will also be staffed by spokespersons from Arriva, First Northern, First TransPennine Express and First Manchester.
Manchester transport spokesman Michael Renshaw said: "We want to hear from as many people as we can about their experiences of using public transport and what improvements they think we can make.
"I'd encourage anyone with something to say about local public transport issues to come along on Wednesday."
In March, Rochdale residents had their chance to confront transport representatives about the state of buses and trains in the city-region.
All ten councils in Greater Manchester are waiting to hear whether the government will provide funds to overhaul transport services in return for a congestion charge.
