Arsenal's Alexander Hleb charged with violent conduct
22/04/2008
Arsenal midfielder Alexander Hleb has been charged with violent conduct.
The Football Association (FA) took the action after reviewing an incident involving Hleb and Reading's Graeme Murty during the Gunners 2-0 victory on Saturday.
A statement from the FA claimed the incident had not initially been seen by the game's referee Peter Walton.
Upon viewing footage after the game Walton informed the FA that, had he seen it at the time, he would have shown Hleb a red card for violent conduct.
Hleb now has until 18:00 BST on Wednesday to admit or deny the charge.
The FA confirmed that its regulatory commission will hear the case on Thursday.
Arsenal currently lie third in the Premiership table, seven point behind leaders Manchester United.
