Bosingwa agent denies United talk
06/05/2008
Jose Bosingwa's agent has dismissed talk that the Porto defender has agreed to sign for Manchester United this summer.
The 25-year-old right-back has been continually linked with a move to Old Trafford, but his agent Rui Neno has moved to dismiss that rumours.
"There is not any sort of agreement with Manchester United," he said.
Neno said no offer had been made that matched Porto's valuation of the Portuguese star.
"If any club bid the 30 million (£23.6 million) set by the club, I believe there might be agreement," he said.
"In Bosingwa's contract there is not any buyout clause preventing him from negotiating."
The agent however claimed that a move to the Premier League may favour Bosingwa.
"What has happened is that clubs from, Spain, Italy, England and recently Germany have shown interest in the player," Neno said.
"Given his style of play, I really think that he would adapt easily to the Premier League, despite the fact some other European clubs have shown their interest.
"What does he [Bosingwa] say? Well, he is receptive to offers and says that this is a good season to move on."
Reports in the British press claim Sir Alex Ferguson is lining up to replace injury-plagued club captain Gary Neville with the Portuguese defender next season.
