China adds fencing gold to medal haul

12/08/2008

China won its 13th gold medal of the Olympics so far on Tuesday when Zhong Man won the men's sabre competition.

The 25-year-old fencer beat Frenchman Nicolas Lopez 15-9 in the Beijing final.

His victory represents the first Chinese fencing gold for more than two decades.

With Lopez picking up silver, Romania's Mihai Covaliu claimed bronze.

Speaking afterwards, Zhong said his win was a "dream come true".ADNFCR-8000014-ID-18728539-ADNFCR
