Coyle urges focus despite shock win at Chelsea
13/11/2008
Burnley manager Owen Coyle has urged his players to stay calm and focus on their league campaign, despite beating Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last night.
The Championship side came from 1-0 down against the Premier League leaders to snatch a draw in the Carling Cup fourth round tie - winning the game in a sudden-death penalty shootout when goalkeeper Brian Jensen saved from John Obi Mikel.
But rather than getting carried away with the victory, the Clarets boss has told his players they must regain their composure ahead of an important weekend.
"There is no doubt this is a superb win and it was especially pleasing that we showed we can play positive football against a top side," said Coyle.
"But I'm quite calm. We must now focus on a massive league game on Saturday.
"It is our duty to show that passion, that work rate and that ability against QPR in the league and we can certainly go there without any fear.
"We'll enjoy tonight but it's back to work on Thursday morning."
