Daughter of Roma star survives car-jacking
25/07/2008
The daughter of Roma defender Philippe Mexes has escaped unharmed after the player's vehicle was stolen with the two-year-old still inside.
The incident took place on Thursday night when Mexes's wife Carla was confronted by two armed men outside the family's house in Rome.
She was in the process of carrying the couple's son Enzo into their house when the men approached her.
After a struggle, the thieves made off with the Mercedes, unaware that Eva was on the back seat.
The police were called and the car was eventually found abandoned in Piazza Eschilo in Rome with Eva asleep unharmed in the back.
Roma confirmed that Mexes was not present during the incident as he was at a training camp with the rest of the Serie A team.
He has now been given a day off to spend with his family.
Mexes joined Roma from Auxerre in 2004 and has eight French caps.
