Domenech insists Henry will be ready for Dutch game
09/06/2008
France coach Raymond Domenech insists Thierry Henry will return to training tomorrow after sitting out France's dire 0-0 draw against Romania.
The World Cup runners-up looked toothless without Barcelona striker Henry in the Group C game in Zurich.
Henry, France's top all-time scorer with 44 goals, was on the bench having not trained since suffering an injury in last week's 1-0 win over Columbia.
Domenech chose Chelsea's Nicolas Anelka and Lyon star Karim Benzema up-front, but the duo failed to light up a dreary game.
Also missing for Les Bleus was their captain Patrick Vieira, who has a thigh injury.
Domenech, whose side now face a tough challenge to qualify from the group of death, said Henry and Vieira will both feature in the tournament.
"(Henry) had a little problem, he was a bit short to play today," Domenech said.
"I think he will be operational starting from tomorrow (Tuesday).
Patrick is getting better, he will prepare calmly with the rest of the group for what I hope will be a few more weeks."
"I am not worried or sad. All I am interested in is preparing (for) the Netherlands match."
France need at least a draw when they clash against Holland on Friday in Berne.
