Drogba and Terry 'will be fit for Euro final'
13/05/2008
Didier Drogba and John Terry will both be fit to play for Chelsea in the Champions League final next Wednesday, the Ivorian striker has claimed.
Speaking to French newspaper L'Equipe, Drogba admitted he would not train for a few days as a result of a knee problem he sustained in the final Premier League match of the season against Bolton Wanderers.
But he said he would rejoin his team-mates before the week is out to ensure he is match fit ahead of the showpiece in Moscow.
"I got a blow to the knee which I had surgery on, and it had a bad reaction," Drogba said.
"I immediately put some ice on, but it is nothing serious. I will resume training sessions this week."
Drogba also allayed fears that Chelsea captain Terry - who was forced off with a dislocated elbow may miss the game against Manchester United.
"There is nothing serious with John," the former Marseilles striker added.
"I had a talk with him and he will play in Moscow. No one wants to miss this huge event. It is the match of our careers, to me it is for sure."
