Hargreaves: No Moscow grudges in England camp
27/05/2008
Owen Hargreaves has insisted there is no disharmony among Manchester United and Chelsea's England contingent.
Tomorrow players from both teams will line up for their country against USA at Wembley, a week after contesting the Champions League final.
The epic match, which United won 6-5 on penalties after a 1-1 extra-time draw, had led to suspicions of ill feeling in the squad.
But Hargreaves said both teams had a "clear conscience" after playing their part in an enthralling spectacle.
"Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose and I don't think it diminishes the season they had," he said of Chelsea.
"I've talked with [Ashley Cole] about it, I was up against him in the game, and I said to him it was a great battle.
"We've all spoken openly about the game."
On the final itself and John Terry's penalty miss that led to sudden death, Hargreaves added: "It's a moment we all dream of, but it could go either way. You could be the hero or you couldn't, and I think if anyone's capable of dealing with that it's [John Terry].
"Next season he will learn a lot from that moment, and it will make him even stronger."
