Hedman claims Man City approach for loan spell
21/11/2008
Magnus Hedman has claimed that he has been approached by Manchester City to join the club on loan as cover for injured goalkeeper Joe Hart.
Hart picked up an ankle injury during last weekend's 2-2 draw with Hull and could be out of action for two weeks.
On Thursday, the club's manager Mark Hughes announced he had been given permission by the Premier League to bring a goalkeeper to the club on loan.
At present Kasper Schmeichel is City's only recognised keeper, with the club's third-choice Richard Martin also injured.
Speaking to www.sportbladet.se, Hedman, formerly of Coventry and Celtic, said: "They want me to sit on the bench for this weekend's game (against Arsenal), but I need at least two weeks' training.
"But my answer of no is not definitive. I need to think about it further."
City are currently lying 12th in the Premier League table.
