Henry not interested in Man City move
12/10/2008
Former Arsenal star Thierry Henry has insisted he is not interested in moving back to the Premier League with Manchester City.
Henry is currently at Barcelona, but has struggled to establish himself as a first team regular at the Nou Camp since leaving Arsenal in 2006. The 31-year-old has not only spent games on the bench, but has also sometimes been completely left out of the squad this season.
The France captain was linked with a move back to the Premier League in the summer and now newly rich Manchester City are thought to be preparing to make a bid for Henry in the January transfer window.
"One thing's for sure, the Manchester City thing and all the things you're talking about need to stop," said Henry. "I've played three matches in the league and I've scored twice. So there you go. I missed two [games] because I was ill.
"[Lionel] Messi has been on the bench twice, [Samuel] Eto'o has been on the bench twice, [Dani] Alves hasn't been in the side recently. The coach rotates players, but you don't stop [talking] when it's my turn. Talk about everyone!
"When [Carlos] Puyol doesn't play against Betis, when Alves isn't in the group, when Messi doesn't play against Santander, when Sam doesn't play against Espanyol. If you're going to talk, talk about everyone."
Henry was one of the most prolific strikers in Europe during his time with Arsenal, scoring 174 goals in 254 appearances. He has managed to score 14 times in 34 games for Barcelona, but has become disgruntled at having to play on the left wing at the Nou Camp.
