Iranian star Andranik agrees Fulham move
12/06/2008
Fulham have completed their latest free transfer signing of the summer by awarding Iranian defensive midfielder Andranik a two-year contract.
The former Bolton Wanderers player has not been offered a new deal at the Reebok Stadium to follow up the two-year agreement he signed in August 2006.
And he has become Cottagers manager Roy Hodgson's second acquisition in as many days after former West Bromwich Albion star Zoltan Gera moved to the west London outfit on Wednesday.
Andranik started his career with Oghab FC in Iran's Azadegan League, before joining FC Aboomoslem in the Iranian Premier League and making 26 appearances for the club during the 2005/06 season.
The 25-year-old was snapped up by then-Bolton manager Sam Allardyce that summer for an undisclosed fee following several positive performances leading up to and during Iran's 2006 World Cup campaign.
However, he has found first-team opportunities somewhat limited under the new regime of Gary Megson, and was told he would be allowed to find another club from this summer.
His contract at Craven Cottage will take him through until the summer of 2010.
