Juventus produced an outstanding performance to defeat Real Madrid 2-1 in Turin.

The French side were 2-0 down inside 11 minutes but pulled it back to 2-2, before the Romanians took a 3-2 lead on the stroke of half-time.

However two second-half goals from Brazilian Fred and one from Karim Benzema – with his second of the night – ensured that Lyon pulled off an unlikely victory.

In Manchester United's group Villarreal beat Aalborg 6-3 and are now tied with United on seven points from three games, six clear of third-place Celtic.

Dynamo Kyiv won 1-0 away to Porto to leave them level with Arsenal at the top of Group G.

Bayern Munich beat Fiorentina 3-0, while Zenit St Petersburg and Bate Borisov played out a 1-1 draw in Russia.
