Kalou excited by Chelsea's new attacking style
25/07/2008
Salomon Kalou has expressed his pleasure at Chelsea's new attacking style under manager Luiz Felipe Scolari.
The 23-year-old also examined the differences in managerial style between the Brazilian Scolari and previous boss Avram Grant.
"Playing an attacking game is always good, before it was about not leaking any goals but this I think will be a different system and we have players like [Frank] Lampard, Deco and [Michael] Ballack who can bring football to the strikers.
"It will be an interesting season for us," he claimed.
"[Before], there were some games where we were waiting and we didn't take our chances. This year can make it better and we have a lot of competitions to play for and a strong ream with different styles of player."
Speaking after a 4-0 victory over Guangzhou Pharmaceutical, Kalou added: "We never played like that before with Deco, [Michael] Essien and Lampard. That's the first time we played with four middle men and two strikers. It's a different system and every player tried to attack."
Chelsea will play Chengdu Blues in their next friendly game.
