Milan fire Kaka warning to Scolari and Chelsea

13/06/2008

AC Milan technical director Leonardo has dismissed suggestions new Chelsea coach Luiz Felipe Scolari will go after Serie A star Kaka.

Leonardo, a former Brazilian international who is now heavily involved in football matters at the San Siro, has said it is "impossible" that a Blues offer for the playmaker will be accepted.

Kaka, 26, has previously declared his unswerving allegiance to the Rossoneri.

However, several pundits have suggested that because former Brazil national coach Scolari is due to take over at Stamford Bridge in July many of his countrymen will be tempted to join him in west London.

"It's normal for a Brazilian coach to try to bring in Brazilian players," Leonardo told the BBC.

"But signing Kaka is impossible, because he is here at AC Milan and will be here until the end of his career."

Despite warning Scolari over any potential raids on the San Siro this summer, Leonardo believes the 2002 World Cup winner is "a good appointment" for the Blues, who he describes as "the nearly team of European football".

"Chelsea need an important victory - they are looking to the Champions League," he continued.

"Scolari won the World Cup with Brazil in 2002 and then took Portugal to the finals of the European Championships two years later."

Leonardo added: "Chelsea were the nearly team of European football last season. They came so close to the Champions League and Premier League.

"I think Scolari can bring something more to them, so they arrive at the right result next time."ADNFCR-8000014-ID-18637105-ADNFCR
