Milan may make summer move for Shevchenko
13/04/2008
AC Milan's vice-president has hinted that the Italian side may consider a summer move for Chelsea striker Andrei Shevchenko.
Since moving to Stamford Bridge back in 2006, the Ukranian has largely failed to carry on the formidable goal-scoring form he showed during his years in Milan and justify the £30 million transfer fee.
However, despite the player having fallen out of favour in London, the Rossoneri's vice president Adriano Galliani has indicated that Schevchenko would be welcome back and could end up partnering Ronaldinho in attack after it was revealed that the Brazilan's agents have been in contact with the Seria A side over a possible move.
"It's possible that he (Shevchenko) will also arrive," he said.
"We will talk to Chelsea."
During the seven years he spent at the San Siro, Shevchenko became Milan's second all-time goal-scorer behind the Swede Gunnar Nordahl.
The news comes as Chelsea's title hopes were given a boost after club medics reported that first-choice goalkeeper Petr Cech looks likely to be fit for his side's next fixture away in Wigan.
It was initially feared that the Czech could be out for six months after his face was lacerated in a training ground accident.
