Pavlyuchenko out for three weeks
08/10/2008
Tottenham Hotspur striker Roman Pavlyuchenko has been ruled out for up to three weeks after suffering a partially torn ankle ligament.
The Russian, who only joined Spurs six weeks ago for around £14 million, was forced to come off during his side's 1-0 defeat at home to Hull City last Sunday.
And after scans on the injured joint it was revealed Pavlyuchenko would be out of first-team contention until November as part of his rehabilitation.
"Roman will now undergo further treatment on the ankle after specialists declared him unfit to play for the next three weeks," a club statement confirmed.
Spurs have endured a winless start to the Premier League season, accruing just two points from their opening seven matches.
The news on Pavlyuchenko is a blow to the club, who are already struggling to score goals, and leaves the out-of-form Darren Bent, Manchester United loanee Fraizer Campbell and Mexican youngster Giovani dos Santos as the only fit senior strikers at White Hart Lane.
