Starlet Fabregas pledges future to Arsenal
29/05/2008
Midfielder Cesc Fabregas has pledged to remain at Arsenal in order to win the Premier League title with the club.
The young playmaker has been rumoured to be the subject of a number of audacious transfer bids from several clubs back in his homeland of Spain, including Barcelona and Real Madrid.
However Gunners manager Arsene Wenger has repeatedly expressed his desire to keep the 20-year-old on his books and build a title-winning team around him.
And in comments to the Sun newspaper today, Fabregas has reaffirmed his commitment to the north London giants - saying he will not follow the route taken by midfield partner Mathieu Flamini, who quit for a higher wage packet at AC Milan.
"I will stay at Arsenal," Fabregas said.
"I'd love to win the Premier League and I am one of those players who fight for what they want until they achieve it."
Fabregas revealed Wenger's concern that he could be facing an exodus of his top players, with Alexander Hleb also rumoured to be on his way in the summer.
"My coach asked me and I told him he had my confidence," the Spaniard added.
