Tevez 'pride' at four-goal haul
04/12/2008
Carlos Tevez revealed he was "very proud" to have scored four goals in Manchester United's 5-3 Carling Cup win over Blackburn Rovers last night.
The Argentinean striker reminded manager Sir Alex Ferguson of his goalscoring talent with his first hat-trick in a United shirt after being used largely as a substitute in the Premier League so far this season.
And afterwards, Tevez said he had been chomping at the bit to get a full 90 minutes on the pitch after a frustrating time of late.
"I have not played very often, so I was looking forward to the game and I am happy with my performance," he told Sky Sports.
Tevez has played well since arriving at Old Trafford from West Ham United in 2007, but he said last night's match was one of his best showings.
"I am very proud to score four goals," he continued.
"It is the first time I have done it in my career and it is better because it came for Manchester United."
