Australia name fresh faces for European tour
11/10/2005
Eight fresh faces will appear in Australia's tour of Europe when the Wallabies head over next month.
Australia boss Eddie Jones has included eight uncapped players in the 31-man tour party, with a number of Unnder-21 stars forcing their way into the squad after catching the eye at the junior World Cup this summer.
Together with a number of players who are relatively inexperienced at international level, the squad is based on youth, as Jones explained.
"We've selected eight players who are uncapped at Test level and a further eight with less than ten caps to their name," he commented.
"When you balance this with the experience of captain George Gregan and a dozen players who have been regulars in the Test squad for the last four years, it certainly makes for an exciting mix."
Gregan will be looking to add to the record haul of 114 caps he already boasts, as Australia seek to put an end to a losing streak that has seen them defeated in their last five games.
The Australians will play the leading European teams, including France, England, Ireland and Wales.
